But unlike standard transfers through composite or S-Video cables, we take it one step further—by capturing the raw RF signal directly from the video heads of the tape deck and processing it with AI-powered enhancement tools.
Why RF Capture Matters
Traditional transfers rely on analog outputs like composite or Y/C, which have already passed through the device’s internal image processing—and often include noise, time base errors, or detail loss.
Capturing the RF signal (radio frequency output directly from the tape head) allows us to extract frame-perfect, unprocessed data. It’s the closest thing to a “digital negative” of analog tape.
We use specialized hardware like modified VCRs with RF output and proprietary capture cards that digitize the signal before any analog-to-digital conversion or enhancement happens.
